Bradley Rea: The Harsh Realities of the Fight Game

Following the news of Liam Williams (23-3, 18 KOs) pulling out of his grudge match against Chris Eubank Jr. (31-2, 23 KOs) scheduled for December 11, it is easy to forget the subsequent damage that a decision like this can cause for the remaining fighters on the undercard.

2021 has been an up and down year for boxing. From the highs of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) becoming undisputed champion to the lows of the biggest fight in British boxing history dissolving between Tyson Fury (31-

Maxi Hughes Weighs in on the Lightweight Division

Following on from George Kambosos Jr’s (20-0, 10 KOs) massive upset win over the undisputed lightweight king, Teofimo Lopez (16-1, 12 KOs), this past weekend at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden, New York, current IBO lightweight title holder Maxi Hughes (24-5-2, 5 KOs) told the Boxing Index that he should be fighting one of the best in the division next year.

Maxi won the IBO strap in September when he beat Jovanni Straffon (24-4, 17 KOs) by unanimous decision over twelve rounds in a p

Andrew Cain: British Boxing’s Best Kept Secret

British boxing is in the best position it has been in for a long time. No matter what promotional show you tune into on any given weekend and no matter what weight division, there is always that one young prospect who captures your attention.

Under the Queensberry promotional banner, there is a wide selection of talent whose careers are being guided by hall-of-fame promoter, Frank Warren, which includes the likes of: Dennis McCann (10-0, 6 KOs), Daniel Dubois (17-1, 16 KOs) and many more.

Can Richard Riakporhe Become World Champion?

This Saturday night, Richard Riakporhe (12-0, 8 KOs) will return to the ring just one month out from his last fight, as he takes on Nigeria’s Olanrewaju Durodola (36-8, 33 KOs) for the vacant WBC Silver cruiserweight title.

A win over the 41-year-old opponent would send Riakporhe soaring in the WBC rankings and in line for a potential title shot against current champion Ilunga Makabu (28-2, 25 KOs).

Interestingly, Makabu fought and defeated Durodola last year via 7th round stoppage. Comparison

Terri Harper Will Be Champion Again

Terri Harper Will Be Champion Again

This past weekend in Sheffield, Terri Harper (11-1-1, 6 KOs) was knocked out brutally on her feet by Alycia Baumgardner (11-1, 7 KOs), losing her WBC & IBO super featherweight titles in the process.

The boxing world can be quick to judge a fighter. Any critique upon Harper on the night is unjust without knowing the obstacles she had to overcome before fight night.

Exactly a year before last weekend’s fight, Terri broke her right hand against Katharina Thand

Northern Ireland’s ‘The Mighty Celt’ Tyrone McKenna (22-2, 6 KOs) is ranked as one of the best super-lightweights in the country, but his story of rising to the top is much more than what he has done inside the ring.

Speaking to Leif Payne of the Boxing Index, McKenna unveiled the truth about his story and how an unlikely acting career turned him into one of Northern Ireland’s best boxers -

Undefeated middleweight prospect hailing from Manchester, Bradley ‘The Sting’ Rea (10-0, 4 KOs), will make his debut under the Boxxer promotional banner on their show this weekend live on Sky Sports.

Fans should never forget Evander Holyfield’s legacy

Following the recent ruling out of Oscar De La Hoya’s return to the ring against Vitor Belfort, the former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion of the world Evander Holyfield will take his place.

On September 11, Triller Fight Club will play host to yet another show of returning boxing kings and mixed martial arts legends. Topping the bill, we see the return of one of boxing’s most loved giant slayers in the form of Evander ‘Real Deal’ Holyfield.
